Cover FX Custom Cover Drops and Hard Candy Mix-in Pigment Drops are both products that are meant to be mixed with other foundations or skincare products to create your foundation. Now, the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops is not a drugstore foundation. The Hard Candy Mix-in Pigment Drops are a closer dupe than the Nyx. I don’t believe the Nyx foundation is a dupe for the Cover FX foundation at all. I wanted to swatch these three together because I keep hearing people say that the Nyx Total Control Drops are a drugstore dupe for the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops. L to R – Cover FX Custom Cover Drops in N10 (not drugstore) – Hard Candy Mix-in Pigment Drops in Fair 1 – Nyx Total Control Drops in Pale It’s like, why did Milani bother to even make Light Natural if they weren’t going to make it lighter than Creamy Vanilla? The only way to make these shades work for me is if I were to add in white foundation. I’m really disappointed to see the lack of variance in Milani Light Natural and Creamy Vanilla. Girl are too dark and peachy/orange on my skintone. Girl WhiteĪs you can see from my swatches above, the lightest shade options from Milani and L.A. Nyx HD foundation in Nude is not one I can wear on its own as I have to mix white in, though it looks like it should be a good match. I thought the Nyx Alabaster was perfect on me but it ends up turning my face pink, and it doesn’t look good. I do think the finish is nice, especially if you have dry skin. It’s a bit darker / peachier than I can wear and it oxidizes when worn. So the Nyx Hydra Touch Foundation in Porcelain is interesting. L to R – Nyx Hydra Touch Foundation in Porcelain – Nyx #NoFilter Finishing Powder in Alabaster – Nyx HD Foundation in Nude The Physicians Formula powder in Translucent is an excellent match for my skintone but it doesn’t last longer than 3 or so hours on me. LA Girl HD Concealer in Highlighting is a nice white concealer that you can use for matte concealer highlighting or to lighten a foundation that’s too dark for you. I couldn’t get a good shade match or coverage. The Flower Beauty Skincognito Stick in SF1 did not work well for me. L to R – Flower Beauty SF1 – LA Girl HD Concealer Highlighting – Physicians Formula Translucent Flower Beauty Erase Everything in Sheer Tint is a nice way to blur imperfections. Hard Candy Glamoflauge in Porcelain oxidizes darker than my skintone. The Pacifica Dreamy Cover foundation in Fair is the runniest foundation I’ve ever encountered. In my list I do highlight a few options that are striving to acknowledge all global shades of beauty.Ĭruelty Free Drugstore Foundations and Concealers Swatches Many brands just don’t acknowledge that people are more than light to medium. It’s even worse if you have a deep skintone. The big problem I have with most cruelty free drugstore brands is that they don’t cater to my pale skin. (see my Ultimate Cruelty Free Makeup Brands list to find out if your favorite brands are cruelty free) Some of the more popular drugstore brands like Covergirl, Maybelline, Rimmel London, L’Oreal, Neutrogena, and Revlon are not cruelty free. Girl, Makeup Academy, Milani, Mineral Fusion, Nyx, Pacifica, Physicians Formula, Pixi, Prestige, Sheamoisture, Sonia Kashuk, and Wet n’ Wild are all cruelty free. Cosmetics, Essence, Flower, Gosh, Hard Candy, J.Cat Beauty, Jordana, L.A. The list of cruelty free brands at the drugstore has really expanded the last several years! E.l.f.
